Job+Change=Stress

As many of you know I have been with Software Plus for 11 1/2 years. As of Tuesday December 11 at 4:30pm, I now work for Softchoice. What a shocker...They let 58 people go from Software Plus, I was one of the lucky ones to still have a job, we are moving to a new location and I am going to Canada Jan 2 to visit the headquarters of SoftChoice. All of this was thrown at me in 1 day. From working at a company with about 120 people going to a company with over 700 people and a billion dollars in sales a year will be a big change. The next couple of months are going to be a bumpy but once April hits, hopefully everything will be smooth sailing. I am excited about the change but sad at the same time. On Wednesday December 12, the new company came in and between 10am-1pm they slowly let people go. Actually they escorted many out of the building and they had to come back after hours to gather their belongings. It was a horrible experience and I pray that I will never have to go through that again in my lifetime. When you search on the internet for the two companies names there are news reports with Forbes Magazine, St Louis Business Journal and many others. I still feel like I am in a dream. In the end everything will work out but this has been one of the longest weeks of my life.

The house is so quiet, except the dishwasher is on, towels, aprons, tablecloths, place mats, oven mitts in the washer, kids in bed and I am about ready to take a Tylenol PM. It was all worth it for another successful cookie exchange. As you can see from the pictures the kids and adults had a blast. We made over 20 different cookies! Hope no one had a belly ache from eating too many cookies. Have a wonderful holiday season and hope to see you next year at the cookie exchange...
